Mike Buley for Costa Mesa City Council District 1 - 2024 - Ad 2

Mike and his wife Adriana moved to Costa Mesa in 2003 and have lived and raised their three children here. He's been an active member of the community volunteering as a youth basketball coach at St John the Baptist and the Hoops Unlimited league hosted at Estancia HS. He also has spent many early weekend mornings as part of the volunteer grounds crew for Costa Mesa American Little League. Mike has volunteered for two terms on the SJB Financial Advisory Board. Mike believes that now is the right time to run for the Costa Mesa City Council to offer a counterbalance to the current council's liberal super-majority policies. District 1 is currently represented by Don Harper and is the only seat on the council held by someone with conservative values. If elected, he will maintain that conservative voice on the council. Mike's 32 years as a civil litigation trial attorney makes him uniquely qualified to investigate and research the complex issues impacting our city, and then to negotiate effectively on behalf of our residents. Mike's practice has included trying complex business, real estate, and contract dispute matters. He has litigated matters where he has worked with City Attorneys as well as the California Attorney General's Office. Mike's reputation in the legal community is that he is smart, tough, fair, and most importantly he can disagree with an adversary without being disagreeable.
